This Za'atar has a story behind it.
Sustainably grown, harvested, and blended by Palestinian and Israeli women working cooperatively across borders — it is one of the rare food products where the sourcing is as meaningful as what ends up in the jar. We're proud to carry it.
The blend itself is traditional and uncompromising: wild hyssop (not thyme — the authentic Levantine herb), sumac, toasted sesame seeds, cold-pressed olive oil, and sea salt. Warm, savory, and deeply layered, with an herbal brightness that opens up the moment it hits heat or oil.
How to use it Sprinkle it atop labne or whipped feta before scooping with warm pita, toss it with chickpeas and bake until crisp, or use it as the first ingredient in your house salad dressing. Make extra. You will always want extra.
Rub over chicken thighs before grilling. Press into flatbread dough before baking. Finish fried eggs. Swirl into hummus. Dissolve into good olive oil for dipping bread.
